The VCC SE committee have agreed to nominate a charity with whom they will be affiliated each year. We are pleased to announce the chosen charity of the year for 2013 is the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting. It is a devastating terminal disease and currently there is no known cause or cure.
Whenever there is an opportunity to raise money for this charity at any of our events we will support the MND Association. At the end of the year our fundraising achievements will be published for all to see. Please give generously.
MND can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe. However, not all symptoms necessarily happen to everyone and it is unlikely they will all develop at the same time, or in any specific order.
Although there is currently no cure for MND, symptoms can be managed to help you achieve the best possible quality of life. Within the East Sussex branch we have at any one time around 30 men and women living with MND.
Our aim is to provide care, support and some financial assistance where required to those living with MND. We need your help, please support our fundraising activities by giving what you can so that we can help others.
